Jaggesh is back to what he does best - dole out dollops of entertainment. The latest dose however contains the Sandwich (2006) flavour - courtesy Aneez Bazmee and Govinda.
An up and coming screenwriter Paramesh (Jaggesh) is forced to marry the village belle Ganga (Siya Gautam) and his lover Parvati (Shraddha Arya) under ‘trying’ circumstances. All is well for eight years when his sons recognise that their fathers are one and the same person. There begins a cat and mouse game between Paramesh and sons to reveal/conceal from the respective ladies. It seems the father has pulled a fast one and is home dry, when the ‘family’ is confronted by another Paramesh...
The story and the director both largely depend on Jaggesh to deliver and he doesn’t disappoint. In a story devoid of common sense, all his trademark mannerisms and gestures envelop the viewer, not allowing room for any thinking to be done. But are there any complaints? Almost nil, as Jaggesh fills up each frame with his brand of dialogues and the rest of the actors do their jobs well. Both Shraddha and Siya blow hot and cold whenever called upon. Purandar Jaipal’s music is a pleasant surprise while PKH Das is his usual self. Prakash’s crisp editing cuts out superfluous stuff, leaving the viewers to enjoy this desi sandwich. Double Decker with its double entendres is a definite time pass on a muggy afternoon.
