"Rs 9 lakh in cash was stolen between August 20 and September 2 from Thadani's Blue Heaven Apartment at Linking Road. We are looking for two domestic helps who had left their job recently," Prakash George, Senior Inspector at Bandra Police Station, said today.
The Thadanis discovered the theft only recently when they opened a briefcase kept in a locker. They lodged a police complaint last Friday, George said.
"Neither the locker nor the briefcase was broken. The two suspects, identified only as Ram and Ashok, might have had used duplicate keys to steal the cash. Raveena does not stay in the house," the Inspector said.
The duo had been working with the Thadanis for a few years, but left the job recently, he said, adding the stolen money was to be used to pay the family's hospital bills.
Further investigations are on.
