A lot has been happening in Kashyap's life lately. The 'Dev D' director recently tied the knot with actress Kalki Koechlin. 'Shaitan' being his last release, Kashyap is now busy with the pre and post-production of about seven films including 'That Girl In Yellow Boots' slated to hit theatres next month.

"I have been working a lot and keeping very busy, but good things are happening in life so I don't want to complain. Emotionally and professionally I am in a good state and very happy with life," Kashyap told PTI in an interview.

Even though he has carved a niche for himself, striking a balance between commercial success with 'Dev D' and critical acclaim with films like 'Black Friday' and 'Udaan', the director-producer says it is only the script which matters to him.

"I don't think about commercial success or critical acclaim while picking up a film to produce. It is the script and the passion of the filmmaker - that's what I am sold on."
Kashyap, 38, is currently busy with 'That Girl In Yellow Boots' with his wife Kalki as the protagonist. The film is a thriller charting the journey of an English girl searching for her father in the bustling city of Mumbai."The protagonist is residing illegally and in the process of hiding from the authorities gets sucked into the Mumbai underworld which in turn exploits her. The film shows how she deals with it and whether she finds her father or not.

"The film is a character-driven following a single person. Its a thriller with an element of race-against-time," said Kashyap.

Soon after the film's release in September, Kashyap will get busy producing Sachin Kundalkar's film starring Rani Mukherji and Malayalam superstar Prithviraj.

"The film goes on floors in October. We are busy with the pre-production and song recording now. It's a quirky musical love story and the title will be locked soon," Kashyap said.

He has finished editing another of his directorials 'Gangs of Wasseypur', which will be out early next year. With Manoj Bajpai in the lead, the film is about the coal mafia in Dhanbad.

"It is a quirky gangster musical, funny without trying to be. Beginning with coal mining, the film is largely a story about Wasseypur, a little place in Dhanbad," said Kashyap.
His much talked about project 'Bombay Velvet', said to be in limbo for Aamir Khan, will roll mid next year without the superstar. The director is currently deciding on the cast.
"We are casting right now and will be in the position to announce by next month. I wanted to cast Aamir but couldn't finish the script in time and he got busy."

Kashyap is also producing two Bengali films 'Michael' and 'Tasher Desh'. The former, directed by newcomer Ribhu Dasgupta, will be releasing soon. He is also looking forward to begin working on 'Monsoon Shootout', an international co-production with a German Film and TV production company.
