The family boarded the ship named 'Josephine' and sailed down the River Seine Sunday, reported People magazine.
The couple were joined by their three other children, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh, but two year-old twins Vivienne and Knox were not present.
The 35-year-old actress is in France promoting her new film 'The Tourist', which also stars Johnny Depp, while Pitt is on promotional duties for the animated movie 'Megamind'.
The family wrapped up warm for the occasion, with Jolie sporting a camel coloured trench coat, and Pitt opting for a black hooded jacket and flat cap.
The 46-year-old actor, who recent completed filming new movie 'The Tree of Life', was seen using his video camera to making a family movie of Zahara and Shiloh on the ship's deck.
"Angelina was great. Patient and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits," said an eye witness, while describing Pitt as "very agreeable, absolutely polite and excellent with the girls".
