"I will definitely return to serious or issue based cinema. I will very soon make a hard-hitting film. Because it is this kind of cinema that gave me recognition and made me what I am today," Madhur told PTI. Madhur shot to fame with 'Chandni Bar' (2001) starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni. The film brought him his first National Award and he then went on to win accolades for his films 'Page 3' and 'Traffic Signal'. His other issue based films include, 'Jail', 'Fashion', 'Corporate' and 'Satta'.

"'Corporate' and 'Satta' are my favourite issue based films. It was the best work of mine. I am proud of both these films," Madhur said. "Of all issue based films that I made 'Corporate' was the most challenging as I did not have much idea about the corporate world since I am not a graduate. To make it appealing and real for the common man was not easy. While, the subject of 'Satta' was amazing, it was complex. The film was ahead of its time and may be that is why it did not do well," the 42-year-old filmmaker said.

With 'Dil Toh..'Madhur is venturing for the first time into the rom-com genre and he enjoyed the experience. "Rom-com was easy to make. I never had any second thoughts about making a romcom. I have a flair for humour, jokes and one-liners. I loved making it and enjoyed a lot. My favourite romcom film is 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. I loved the film and have seen it several times. I also like 'Jab We Met'," the director said.

About the film, he said, "It is about three men and their encounters with love. How these guys struggle to cope with modern women and contemporary relationships. The film takes a humorous look at love and the extent people will go to escape or attain it."

The film with an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shruti Hassan, Shazahn Padamsee and Shraddha Das, releases on January 28.
