The list included nearly three dozen prominent producers, including Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Udhayanidhi Stalin, who run some of India’s most successful production houses. The letter stated that their support made the documentary film Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale possible.

In the social media post, Nayanthara wrote, “Every film I have worked on holds immense significance in my life, as my journey in cinema is filled with countless joyful moments. Many films are especially close to my heart, and I wished to include those memories and scenes in our documentary. When I approached the following producers to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs), they granted them without hesitation or delay. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.”

“Thank you for sharing a slice of my most professional moments. Your unwavering support during moments like these deeply moves me. I will always cherish this kindness with immense gratitude. May our journey together continue, always, finding happiness in other people’s happiness," the letter read.

The controversy began on November 16 when Nayanthara called out Dhanush for issuing a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crore for the use of a behind the scenes clip from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. In her response, she stated, “We were shocked to read your claims questioning the use of a mere 3-second video, captured on our devices and already widely available on social media, while demanding ₹10 crore in damages.”

Reports claim that Dhanush refused to grant the NOC for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, the film that marked the beginning of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's romance which led to a delay of almost two years for the documentary.

Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale is now streaming on Netflix. It was released on November 18, 2024, coinciding with the actress’ birthday.
