The movie, vying for a place in the Limca and Guinness Book of World Records for being the longest one shot film, will hit the theatres next month. Kashyap, however, played down the record aspect of the project.
"The story is more important than the record. We wanted the film to be technically sound. It was a challenge to shoot a film that had no 'cut to' parts. The film is based on dark humour and a twist that will shock the audience. We only have one song, that too at the end of the film," he said.
The action-thriller is produced by Arun S Deddhar (Star Smile Productions)."The movie is inspired by November 26 terror attacks and is also based on one of my plays 'Naya Rasta'. We have used several references from the 26/11 attacks," Kashyap said.
The makers claim `Six Hours...' is India's longest one shot film and made in two hours and 17 minutes. The previous records are held by Russian film `Russian Arc' (one hour 38 minutes) and British movie `PVC' (one hour 84 minutes.) Indian TV show 'CID' has a record of 111 minutes for an uncut scene.
"Shooting the film called for excellent coordination with cameraman Vishal Singh, who used a Sony HD digital camera, endless rehearsals and a lot of running around due to demand of the script," Kashyap said. The film has skilled theatre actors like Avinash Bhargav, Laila Panda, Sunil Chauhan, Raja Chauhan, Shiv Gupta and Arshad Khan.
