In the film world where fairy tales usually offer fantasies of magic and hope, Geetu Mohandas and Yash are ready to upend that expectation with their bold new project, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups. This unlikely pairing merges two cinematic forces — Geetu, a director known for her gritty, human-centered narratives, and Yash, the mass hero who became a household name with the KGF series.

Together, they’re crafting a daring blend of art, risk, and entertainment that promises a truly unique film experience.

Yash, forever etched in fans' minds as 'Rocky Bhai', has become synonymous with explosive action, magnetic charisma, and grand-scale films. While his filmography is full of blockbusters, Yash is always eager for fresh challenges. “If given the opportunity, I will risk everything to try something new, even if I don’t fully understand it yet. That’s my philosophy,” he revealed in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.

For Yash, this collaboration goes beyond creating another massive success — it’s about pushing limits, embracing risks, and blending two vastly different cinematic styles.

Known for her exceptional storytelling in globally celebrated films like Moothon and Liar's Dice, Geetu Mohandas has consistently excelled at creating raw, complex, and deeply human narratives. Her films often explore life’s darker shades, far removed from the glamour of mainstream cinema. However, with Toxic, she seems ready to explore new horizons. As Yash points out, “Her earlier works may be different, but she knows how to cater to the masses and deliver entertainment. I think she’s coming up with something truly mass-y and highly entertaining."

The true essence of Toxic lies in the contrast between their experiences. Geetu is a filmmaker who thrives in the gritty, emotional landscapes of human stories, while Yash is a larger-than-life star synonymous with high-octane, mass entertainment. But, as Yash aptly puts it, "It’s about the person. She arrived with the right vision and passion. I admired how dedicated she was to what she wanted to achieve. It’s really about that for me. The coming together of these two worlds was bound to happen."

Discussing the fusion of mass entertainment and art cinema in his upcoming project, Yash said, "It’s really quite straightforward. I focused on the passion behind the project... It all comes down to the person... When telling a story, the goal is to create a great narrative." This is precisely what Toxic aspires to achieve.

With both Geetu and Yash aligned in their vision for a film that is “entertaining and commercially appealing,” audiences can expect a unique experience — a combination of Geetu’s emotional insight and Yash’s dynamic energy.

Written and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is produced in partnership by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
