A 15-year old boy was baked alive after he got trapped in a giant oven at a biscuit factory in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, about 150 kilometre from Lucknow.
According to the police sources Deepak Jaiswal, a Class IX student at a local school, entered the oven to stave off cold, when the factory was closed and the workers had gone home after completing their shift.
Deepak's father owned a biscuit factory at Khairipur Ramnath village in the district and supplied bakery items to local shops.
Sources said that the boy was trapped inside the hot oven as its handle got snapped and broke away making it impossible for him to come out as the door was closed.
The family members came to know about the tragedy several hours later after they started looking for Deepak, when a friend of his came to meet him, sources said.
The boy had to be pulled out of after breaking the oven's door.
Deepak, who had suffered extensive burn injuries, was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Police sources said that the boy's body had been sent for a postmortem examination.
''It appears to be a case of accidental death'' a senior police official said in Gonda.
