3 killed, 23 injured in JK road mishaps

A motorcyclist was killed when he was hit by a cab at Thajiwara near Achabal, 80 km from here, in Anantnag district, they said.

In another incident, a tractor driver was killed after his vehicle overturned at Batkote near Handwara, 80 km from here in Kupwara district. Three motorcyclists were injured and a pillion rider was killed when the two-wheelers collided at Gunkhooru village in Handwara, police said.

Fourteen people, including five Amarnath pilgrims, were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned at Rinzipal near Pahalgam, 100 km from here, in Anantnag district, they said.

Two men in a motorcycle were injured when a load carrier collided with a truck at Keegam crossing near Awantipora, 32 km from here, on Srinagar-Jammu national highway. A nine-year-old boy was injured when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Vessu-Qazigund, 80 km from here, on the highway, police said.

A pedestrian was injured after he was hit by a motorcycle at Ashajipora in Anantnag town, they said, adding that the motorcyclist was also injured in the incident. A 50-year-old person was injured when he was hit by a cab at Potukha national highway in Baramulla district, police said.
