An Air Arabia flight made an emergency landing at Kochi international airport in Kerala on Friday following hydraulic failure.
All 222 passengers and seven crew members were safe.
According to the airport spokesperson, Air Arabia flight G9-426 from Sharjah to Kochi with 222 passengers and seven crew members was about to land by 7.13 pm. However, following the plane developing a hydraulic failure, a full emergency landing was declared at the airport, and the aircraft landed safely by 7.29 pm. The runway was declared fit for operations by 8.14 pm. Two flights had to be diverted.
Cochin International Airport Limited managing director S Suhas said that concerted efforts and timely coordination helped in handling the emergency situation and clearing the airport fit for operation swiftly.
