The House was set to discuss price rise after the Question Hour when Mulayam Singh Yadav raised the issue of “denial” of the gas to Dadri thermal power project in UP. “This is being done for the benefit of one individual. We have nothing to do with Anil Ambani,” the SP leader said before the LS was adjourned for the third time.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal said the government would reply to the issue on Monday.
Speaker Meira Kumar disallowed Yadav to speak after the Question Hour and asked Basudev Acharya, CPM, to start the discussion on price rice.
However, Yadav continued to question the government’s motive in moving the SC even after Bombay HC had ordered RIL to supply gas to various entities.
With the Speaker in no mood to give way, Mulayam asked his partymen to rush to the well of the House. The House was adjourned for about five minutes before re-assembling and then adjourned again until 2.00 pm.
When it met again, the unruly scenes were re-played with SP men demanding resignation of Petroleum Minister Murli Deora. The bedlam forced the third adjournment of the house for the day.
