New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) Samanway Baithak, the annual co-ordination meeting of the saffron outfit with the BJP as well as its other affiliates, is set to take place in Kerala’s Palakkad from August 31 to September 2, the RSS announced on Tuesday.

The meeting will be the first one between the BJP and RSS after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“In the Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak, key office-bearers of various Sangh inspired organisations, participate as per invitation. During this meeting, activitists of Sangh inspired organisationswill share the information and exchange experiences about their respective work,” an announcement from the RSS read.

The release also stated that leaders will discuss various issues of national interest, recent developments as well as plans for steps ahead. In all, 32 affiliates of the RSS will take part.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosabale, all the six SahSarkaryawahs of the Sangh and other senior office-bearers will participate in this meeting. Representatives of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Vidya Bharati, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh will als participate in this meeting, besides the BJP.

The key meeting is also significant because of the speculation that the RSS has insisted on the BJP appointing a working president ahead of the meeting. Several meetings between the BJP and Sangh leaders have taken place in the last week, with two key union ministers given the duty of placating the RSS leadership, said sources.

The BJP, which has kickstarted the process of choosing a new president after two extensions were given to JP Nadda, has insisted on finishing the membership drive before a working president is appointed. The working president is typically named the president once the election process is over. Nadda was working president during Amit Shah’s tenure as president.
