AAP workers held a demonstration at Laxmi Nagar here against the arrest of party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of his wife Sunita Kejriwal's maiden Lok Sabha poll roadshow in East Delhi on Saturday.
The demonstration was organised near a foot-over bridge in the East Delhi area as part of the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) "Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se" campaign
A day after polling concluded for the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, the Congress on Saturday alleged that voters were harassed and the election machinery was hijacked by the ruling CPI(M) in the state with an aim to bring down the turnout percentage. AICC general secretary K C Venugopal said the alleged hijacking of the election machinery by the ruling CPI(M) was one of the reasons for the decrease in polling percentage this year as compared to the turnout in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
"You must have seen, the BJP leaders have said that they want to change the Constitution and PM Modi contradicts that statement... This is a dangerous thing. This constitution has given you all the rights, then what's the need to change it. They want to weaken the democracy and people of the nation...," said Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while addressing a public meeting in Valsad.
"I will meet the party leadership and high command in person and tell them about it. Congress has had an ideology. Be it Lok Sabha elections, Vidhan Sabha elections or the formation of government, Congress has always had the policy to have representation from every caste and community...MVA is contesting 48 seats in Maharashtra in these Lok Sabha elections and nobody from the minority community has been made a candidate for any of these seats. So, people of the community are hurt. So, people have been questioning me over the past two days that why did Congress not field even one...I am hurt too...What was the compulsion?...," he said.
"Kashmir is ours, but Congress' people and (Mallikarjun) Kharge are saying that what do Gujarat and Rajasthan have to do with Kashmir. Rahul Gandhi said that if Article 370 is removed, rivers of blood will flow in Kashmir. But, not even a single stone has been thrown in five years... There used to be bomb blasts during the Congress government. But, after the Uri and Pulwama attacks, PM Narendra Modi ended terrorism with surgical strike and air strike. PM Modi took the Indian economy from 11th to 5th place in ten years."
He said, "These people (BJP) advertise that PM Modi is the only one who was born to help the poor. In a country where rice and wheat weren't enough produced and we had to import from America, today we are producing the amount of wheat, rice and pulses that are sufficient for the people of the country to have their meals. This is all because of Congress, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, and Indira Gandhi who brought the Green Revolution and White Revolution to the country. In a country where not even a needle used to be manufactured, if someone dared to launch rockets, it was Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi."

Addressing a public rally in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, "The stature of India has grown in the world. Borders have become safe, terrorism and Naxalism have been eliminated and now even if a cracker bursts somewhere, Pakistan clarifies that there is no hand of mine (Pakistan) in that incident as it knows it's a new India 'agar samay se safai nahi di to swayam saaf ho jayega' and that's why Pakistan clarifies out of fear."
The decision was taken after a polling booth was vandalised in Indiganatta village of Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency by the villagers who had boycotted voting.
"When the Congress and its friends realised that they cannot compete with NDA's track record of development, they changed their strategy. They are using anti-national agendas and appeasement. Now, congress' agenda is that they will reinstate Article 370 in Kashmir," said PM Mosi in a rally in Maharashtra's Kolhapur.
The Congress on Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been hell-bent on taking 'revenge' on the people of Karnataka since they 'decisively rejected' him in the 2023 assembly elections.
The opposition party's attack came after the Centre approved about Rs 3,499 crore as drought relief to Karnataka following the state government taking the matter to the Supreme Court.

"The 2024 (Lok Sabha) elections is a contest between two sides. On one side, there is the NDA which is working for the aspirations of the people of the nation. On the other hand, there is the INDI alliance which is working for its own selfishness and its family," said PM Modi in Goa.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted the Congress-led I.N.D.I.A. alliance, saying it is mulling to have five prime ministers in five years if voted to power.
Addressing a rally at Kolhapur in western Maharashtra, Modi said the opposition bloc cannot even reach a three-digit figure or 'at the doorstep of forming a government, but has plans to have one prime minister every year if they get a chance'.
