The ASI had been directed by the district court in Varanasi to submit its report on Friday.

According to the lawyers of the litigants, the court would hear the ASI plea seeking two weeks more to complete the report and submit it in the court on Saturday.

ASI says it has completed the survey, which continued for more than one hundred days, and the report was to be submitted to the district court in a sealed cover on Friday.

The court had initially directed the ASI to submit the report in September but the latter sought extension stating that the work was not complete. The court then directed the ASI to submit the report by November 17.
