Speaking at a book release function in Patna, Agnivesh said Azad was picked up at Nagpur by the police and bumped off in the forests of Adilabad in Andhra Pradesh. He said Azad had appeared on the scene at Nagpur railway station to meet him to fix a date for the dialogue with the Centre, but the police picked him up and killed him in a fake encounter.
“It is treachery,” said Agnivesh, and added, “This is wrong politics”.
