Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Highlights | No 'nyay' for Dalits, Adivasis, minorities: Rahul slams Modi government's 'hatred' for marginalised groupsDay 39 of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra commenced in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh criticised the 10-year tenure of the Modi government, labelling it as a period of 'Anyay Kaal'. During his address in Unnao, Rahul condemned the Modi government for 'discriminating' against Dalits, Adivasis, and minority communities, stating that they have been denied 'justice'. He further accused various institutions including the media, police, bureaucrats, and courts of being complicit in perpetuating this injustice. Additionally, it was announced that the Yatra would be suspended for five days, from February 26 to March 1, to enable Rahul to deliver two special lectures at Cambridge University, his alma mater, and participate in crucial meetings in New Delhi. Rahul takes on Centre over Agniveer scheme

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the Centre over the Agniveer recruitment scheme, saying that it "discriminates between martyrs," a charge rejected by the defence forces in the past.

Unlike the full-time Army soldier, a jawan recruited under the Agniveer scheme will not be given the status of a martyr, Gandhi said during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as it passed through Raebareli, the parliamentary constituency of his mother and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

"His body will be thrown away. His family will neither get a pension nor any kind of help. Agniveer soldiers will join the Army, but after four years, three out of four Agniveers will be kicked out," he added.
