When the House re-assembled at 2:30 pm after two adjournments in the pre-lunch sitting, members from BJP and AIADMK once again rushed into the well shouting slogans demanding JPC.
P J Kurien, who was in the Chair, tried to persuade the members to take up Private Members' business but his request went unheeded.
As he continued with his efforts to run the House, BJP member Rudra Nararayan Pany snatched agenda papers.
This evoked angry protests from the treasury benches.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Minister V Narayanasamy and Congress members Jesudasu Seelam and Rajiv Shukla strongly objected to the member's behaviour.
An angry Seelam deplored the action and told the BJP member, "You should not do it...it is too much."
BJP members tried to salvage the situation with Deputy Leader of the party in the Upper House S S Ahluwalia taking the paper back from Pany's hands and putting it back on Kurien's table.
At this point, Kurien adjourned the House till Monday.
