West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday fired a fresh salvo at Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that the BJP government at the Centre was selling off all the government organisations and only “Modi’s factory of lies” will remain open.
Addressing three back to back rallies in Purulia district, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo scoffed at the saffron party’s manifesto for the Assembly elections in Bengal and said that the BJP did not keep the promises it made in Tripura and Assam.
“The BJP government is selling off all government organisations. Only Modi’s factory of lies and BJP’s fraud will remain open,” said Mamata. She said that the Centre was planning to sell off the PSUs, Air India and nationalised banks which will leave thousands of employees in lurch.
She further alleged that the EVMs could be tampered to ensure BJP’s victory and urged people to keep guarding the machines till results are declared on May 2.
“If the Central force jawans ask you to leave, tell them that you respect them but they should not work for Narendra Modi,” said Mamata addressing a gathering.
Making it clear that she will not back down, the Chief Minister said that she will not concede even an inch of land to the saffron party without a fight. She also said that despite her injury she "will hit the ball out of the ground in such a way that the BJP will be wiped out from the Centre".
“The BJP thought that they have injured Mamata and she will not be able to do much. But they don’t know me yet. Even with one leg, I will hit the ball out of the ground in such a way that the BJP will disappear from Delhi (Centre),” said Mamata.
Alleging that the BJP was bringing outsiders to Bengal to intimidate voters, she urged the women workers and supporters of TMC to chase away these “goons” with cooking utensils and not to get intimidated by the BJP.
She also slammed the Centre over high prices of cooking gas and demanded that it should provide LPG cylinders for free.
