The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday released ‘sting’ videos accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia of taking crores in “commission” while distributing liquor licenses under the new liquor policy which is no longer implemented.

Releasing two videos, BJP leader Sambhit Patra said that the “modus operandi” of the AAP was now out in the open. The videos were of Kulvinder Marwah whose son Sunny Marwah is accused no 13 in the FIR filed by the CBI in the excise policy case. The Marwahs own Mahadev Liquors.

In the videos, Marwah is heard saying that the AAP took Rs 253 crore from him, allowing him to open as many liquor stores in Delhi for a year. He is also heard saying that some liquor business owners paid as much as Rs 500 crore for licenses and permits in better localities.

Patra also posted an appeal on Twitter. “This is an appeal to all of you who have given money to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia — come forward like Kulwinder Marwah and expose Kejriwal’s liquor scam to bring truth to the country,” Patra tweeted.

Patra accused Sisodia of not following the requisite norms. “With the help of the excise policy, Manish Sisodia earned a lot of commission and continues to evade questions. He has not told me why was the new policy taken back, or why were the suggestions of the Ravi Dhawan committee not followed. He is also silent on why blacklisted companies were given contracts or why some manufacturers were given retail contracts when the policy clearly says the opposite,” he said.

Sisodia, however, laughed off the accusations. “They stood on the road, got in a car and asked someone a few questions; you call that a sting? This is a joke. I have such stings as well, I will give them to you,” Sisodia said to reporters.
