Reiterating its demand for a law or an ordinance enabling construction of the Ram Mandir, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday said that the courts, so far, have not been able to resolve the Ayodhya dispute.
"Consuction of Ram mandir is a matter of national pride," RSS joint general secretary Dr Manmohan Vaidya said.
His comments came after RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the three-day long Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarani Mandal (working commitee meeting) at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini in Keshav Shrusti at Uttan in Bhayender, nearly 40 kms from Mumbai.
Top RSS functionaries and chiefs of Sangh affiliates are attending the deliberations.
Dr Vaidya said that issues of national and social importance are being discussed. "Various contemporary issues are being discussed," he said.
To a question on Congress president Rahul Gandhi's attack on RSS, he said: "It is not something new, they have been attacking us for long. "
