In order to create awareness and motivate voters ahead of the upcoming state assembly election, Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo will have a face to face live interaction with electors on Facebook on October 1. The live chat will run from 12 noon to 1 pm.

The CEO would connect through his Facebook page @ceoChhattisgarh. The one-hour programme in two phases will first host panel members, who will brief the voters regarding the preparedness for Chhattisgarh General Election 2018, including polling centre arrangements, facilities for persons with disabilities (PWD), third gender and senior citizens, besides other information. The electors would be motivated to exercise their right to franchise. The CEO would also answer queries and doubts raised by voters. The questions of voters would be randomly picked and answered by the panel.

The CEO's office social media wing has urged the voters to participate in large numbers. Already, a competition is being run on Facebook - #ChhattisgarhVotes - with cash awards of Rs 500 to Rs 50,000.
