The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday began investigation into the alleged gang-rape and murder of two teenagers in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district last month.

A CBI team landed at Budaun on Friday and later visited the spot where the cousin sisters  were found hanging from a tree at an orchard outside their Katra Sadatganj village, police sources here said.

The sleuths also met the district police officials and were briefed on the case by them.
Six of the seven accused in the case have already been arrested.

Police had on Wednesday nabbed Pappu Yadav, one of the main accused.

The police had earlier arrested five people — two policemen and three brothers — from the same village to which the victims belonged.

Two of the accused had reportedly confessed to their crime.
