Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed concern over the increase in the number of Covid cases in some districts of the state in the last few days. CM Gehlot was reviewing the Covid situation in the state. The Chief Minister said that a letter would be written to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, urging him to allow the booster dose of Covid-19. The Rajasthan CM also said that it has come to the notice that booster doses are being administered in about 35 countries across the world. "In such a situation, it is necessary that in order to save the people from the third wave, the Central Government should issue guidelines to the states soon after taking appropriate decisions regarding the need for booster dose," CM Gehlot said. "To learn from the devastation of the second wave and the nature of this virus, the strategy of re-testing, tracking and tracing should be implemented strongly," opined CM Ashok Gehlot. He also stressed on the importance of restricting the spread of the virus at the primary level so that the people of the state can be saved from the third wave. The CM directed the concerned authorities to ramp up the testing in Rajasthan, especially in those areas where cases are rising. He also asked officials to focus on extensive contact tracing.
