Hopes of retrieving the 14-month-old girl child Chinnari alive faded as 51 hours have passed after she accidentally fell into an uncovered bore well on Thursday evening in Chenvelli village of Vikarabad district of Telangana.

The experts from NDRF and ONGC who relentlessly struggled to save the child have decided to use flushing technology to retrieve the body of the child. The district administration after consulting the parents of Chinnari has decided to give a go for flushing the child from the bore as all other techniques have failed.

The ONGC experts at the site have made it clear that the child could not have slipped below 40 feet as the pipe after 40 feet is of only 6inches in width. “We have measured the circumference of the Childs’s gown and found that she is much larger than that. So there is no chance for her to slip into the abyss as we all initially thought,” Chevella MP Visweswara Reddy said.

Parents of the child Yadagiri and Renuka who were on the vigil day and night have apparently lost hope with the climate played spoil sport. Rains and Gail winds have hampered the rescue operations for hours on Friday. However, excavators are still working to dig a hole close to the bore well to manually rescue the child.

“We could see the moving hand and hear cries of the child at around 11 am on Friday, she even responded to her mother’s calls. After that, we lost track of her,” P. Mahender Reddy, Telangana state Transport Minister who has been camping in the village has said. Meanwhile, state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been in constant touch with the district administration and reviewed the situation.
