Groups of youths indulged in stone-hurling at police and CRPF at two places in Baramulla, 55 kms from here, early in the day.

The security forces fired rubber bullets, burst teargas shells and used batons to disperse the violent mob, police said, adding four persons were injured in the clashes which were still continuing.

One Mohammad Ishaq Lone was allegedly hit by a rubber bullet and was shifted here for treatment, sources said.

Police had rounded up over 12 youths on Saturday and the locals have threatened to continue the agitation if they were not released.

Barring Baramulla, life returned to normalcy in Kashmir after a day-long separatist sponsored general strike and violent protests on Saturday, officials said.

This is for the third consecutive day that violent clashes disrupted normal life in Baramulla town, where over 12 people, including six policemen, were injured in the clashes during the strike called by hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference against alleged human rights violations in the state.

On Friday, groups of youth clashed with police in the town soon after the prayers.
