The complaint was filed under section 153 of the IPC (giving provocation with intention to cause riot) and section 2 of the `Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971', by Sumit Parashar of `Jago Hind Sangthan', yesterday.

Parashar alleges that by opposing hoisting of national flag, both Abdullah and Malik have committed an anti-national act.

Judge Kumudini Patel, Judicial Magistrate First Class, has directed the complainant to submit evidence on the issue on January 21.

BJYM, BJP's youth wing, is planning to hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk on January 26. Chief Minister Abdullah had criticised the plan, saying BJP would be responsible for "repercussions" of hoisting the flag in Kashmir Valley.
