The Congress Core Group, headed by Gandhi, met at the residence of the Prime Minister as an unrelenting opposition paralysed Parliament for the fifth consecutive day while pressing the demand for JPC.
The meeting was attended by other Core Group members -- Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony, Home Minister P Chidambaram and the Congress President's Political Secretary Ahmed Patel.
Significantly, Kapil Sibal, who was given additional charge of Telecom Ministry after A Raja was forced to quit on Sunday night, was also present at the meeting.
