Italy reports 33,979 new coronavirus cases in 24-hours, 546 deaths
Italy has registered 33,979 new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Sunday, down from 37,255 on Saturday.
The ministry also reported 546 Covid-related deaths, from 544 the day before.
Karnataka adds 1,565 new Covid-19 cases, 21 deaths
Karnataka reported 1,565 fresh Covid-19 cases as the overall tally reached 8,61,647 while 21 deaths pushed the toll to 1,529, the Health department said on Sunday.
The state continued to show a sharp decline in the Covid-19 cases and fatalities from over 10,700 cases and above 200 deaths a day two months ago to a mere 1,500-odd cases and 21 deaths now.
Covid-19: 30 more deaths, 1,054 new cases in 2 days in Punjab
Thirty more people died of coronavirus in Punjab in the past two days, raising the toll to 4,458, while 1,054 new cases pushed the infection count to 1,41,658, a health department medical bulletin said on Sunday.
Eight fatalities were reported on Saturday while 22 deaths took place on Sunday, it said.
There are 5,769 active Covid-19 cases in the state as of now, according to the bulletin.
Covid-19: 2 more deaths, 168 more cases in Chandigarh
The deadly coronavirus claimed two more lives in Chandigarh, pushing the death toll due to the pandemic in the Union Territory to 248 while 168 more people were tested positive for the infection in the last two days, a medical bulletin said on Sunday.
With the discovery of new Covid-19 patients, the total number of cases rose to 15,804 in two days, said the medical bulletin.
Spike in Covid cases: More ICU beds, testing in Delhi, says HM Amit Shah
To deal with the recent spike in coronavirus cases in Delhi, the Centre on Sunday said it will soon make available 300 additional ICU beds and double the number of daily RTPCR tests in the national capital.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also said some of the hospitals under the municipal corporations of Delhi will be converted into dedicated Covid hospitals and doctors and paramedics of paramilitary forces will be deployed in the national capital to deal with the shortage of manpower.
Madhya Pradesh reports 870 fresh Covid-19 cases, seven deaths
Madhya Pradesh's Covid-19 caseload rose to 1,83,927 on Sunday with 870 new additions, a health official said.
With seven more fatalities, including two eachin Indore and Sagar and one death each occuring in Bhopal, Hoshangabad and Shivpuri, the overall toll in the state mounted to 3,090, he said.
At the same time, 722 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the state's count of recoveries to 1,71,691, he added.
8 deaths, 1,957 fresh virus cases in Haryana
Eight more people died from coronavirus in Haryana on Sunday as 1,957 fresh cases took the state’s infection count to 1,99,874, according to a bulletin.
So far, 2,019 people have succumbed to the disease in the state.
On Sunday, three deaths were reported from Bhiwani; two from Faridabad and one each from Gurgaon, Sonipat and Sirsa, according to the state Health Department's daily bulletin.
10 deaths, 2,184 fresh virus cases in Rajasthan
Ten more people died from coronavirus in Rajasthan on Sunday as 2,184 fresh cases took the state’s infection count to 2,25,817, according to an official report.
So far, 2,066 people have died from the infection in the state, it said.
Two deaths each were reported from Ajmer, Jaipur, Ganganagar while Alwar and Nagaur reported one fatality each.
Dharavi reports one Covid-19 case
Dharavi slum colony here on Sunday reported one new Covid-19 case, the second time in the last four days, a Mumbai civic body official said.
The tally of cases now stands at 3,620, he said, adding that Dharavi had reported a single Covid-19 case on November 10. The slum colony added four infections to its tally on November 14.
2,544 new coronavirus cases in Maharashtra , death toll rises by 60
Maharashtra reported 2,544 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, which took the state's infection tally to 17,47,242, the health department said.
The death of 60 patients took the fatality count in the state to 45,974, it said.
A total of 2,707 patients were discharged during the day, it said.
Amit Shah takes stock of Covid-19 situation in Delhi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday took stock of Delhi's Covid-19 situation in the wake of recent spike in cases in the national capital, officials said.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and senior officers of the central government attended the meeting chaired by Shah.
The home minister reviewed the situation arising due to the spike in Covid-19 cases in Delhi and discussed ways to deal with it, a home ministry official said.
French police increase Covid lockdown checks in Paris
French police stepped up controls in Paris over the weekend to ensure residents were complying with strict lockdown rules imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19, amid signs that some people were breaching them.
Prime Minister Jean Castex has said people are not abiding by the rules as strictly as during the first lockdown back in the spring.
Andhra Pradesh Covid-19 tally touches 8.54 lakh with 1,056 new cases
Andhra Pradesh added 1,056 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the cumulative to 8.54 lakh on Sunday. In 24 hours ending 9 am on Sunday, 2,140 patients got cured while 14 others succumbed in the state.
The latest bulletin said the total recoveries increased to 8.28 lakh and the toll to 6,868, leaving 18,659 active cases.

Iran reports record daily coronavirus cases of 12,543
New coronavirus infections in Iran have risen by 12,543 in the past 24 hours, a record high, taking the cumulative total to 762,068, the health ministry said on Sunday.
Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state TV that 459 people had died in the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll in the Middle East's worst-hit country to 41,493.
India reports under 50K new daily Covid-19 cases for 8 days straight; active caseload contracts further
India has reported less than 50,000 new daily cases of Covid-19 for the eighth continuous day, a trend which assumes wider significance as many countries in Europe and America continue to see a surge in their daily numbers, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.
A total of 41,100 persons were found to be infected with Covid-19 in India in a span of 24 hours, while 42,156 people recuperated during the same period, leading to a further contraction of the active caseload.
There are 4,79,216 active cases of coronavirus as on date which comprise merely 5.44 per cent of the total cases.
26 new cases take Tripura's Covid-19 tally to 31,945
At least 26 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Tripura on Sunday, pushing the tally in the state to 31,945, a health department official said.
The coronavirus death toll remained at 359 as no patient has succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, he said.
On Saturday, 64 people were discharged from GB Pant Hospital, the main referral facility for Covid-19 patients in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 30,455, the official said.

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who tested positive for Covid-19 a few weeks ago, has now been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon for further treatment, his family said on Sunday.

Czech Republic sees further decline in Covid-19 cases, still among highest in Europe
The Czech Republic reported on Sunday a further decline in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths from daily highs seen in early November, but the country remains among the hardest hit in Europe during this second wave of the pandemic.
