It said, out of 98,474 active cases, 97,651 patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and stable, while 823 are in ICU.

“Although Mumbai has been reporting a higher number of Covid-19 cases, the mortality rate in the city has come down over the last two months. The Case Fatality Rate, i.e. death due to Covid-19 as a percentage of total reported cases, has come down to 4.5% as against 5.8% during June,” BMC’s Additional Municipal Commissioner (Health) Suresh Kakani said.

Since the first week of May till September 23, a total of 1,34,113 people, having mild Covid-19 symptoms, underwent home isolation out of which 1,13,374 were released as per protocol from quarantine, official figures showed.
