The annual monsoon, which is now hovering over the Konkan region of Maharashtra, will not move further before Thursday as cyclone Aila has sucked out all the moisture.
The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has issued a statement saying the monsoon will not advance for the next three or four days.
It will regain the required moisture after getting the necessary push from the cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal by Thursday.
The IMD has predicted isolated heavy rainfall over coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
