New Delhi: The protests against the irregularities in the conduct of NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams intensified on Thursday with the members of the Congress-affiliated National Students' Union of India (NSU-I) barging into the headquarters of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is under the scanner.

Shouting slogans like 'shut down NTA', scores of NSU(I) members led by its president Varun Choudhary barged into the building in south-east Delhi's Okhla and locked the entrance. "No more Corrupt NTA. #NTA BAN," read a message pasted at the entrance.

"Students across the country are suffering due to the inefficiencies and negligence of the NTA. The frequent postponements and paper leaks are not just administrative failures. They are a direct attack on the future of our youth. We demand that the NTA be banned and a more reliable, transparent system be put in place," Choudhary said.

He said they will lock NTA offices across India if their demand to ban the NTA is not met.

Separately, a indefinite sit-in at the Jantar Mantar jointly staged by left backed students' groups like All India Students Association (AISA), Delhi University's Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) and Disha Students Organisation among others entered the second day.
