Locals continue to bear the brunt of the fumes from the fire, which broke out at the Bhalswa landfill site in Delhi on April 26. Fire tenders are still on the job. Nearby schools have been shut down as the landfill fire is causing heavy smoke in the area.
Furthermore, Delhi government imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on the North Delhi Municipal Corporation in connection with the fire.
