The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs staged a protest near Delhi L-G V K Saxena's office decrying the “declining” law and order in the national capital.

The AAP legislators, who had marched from the Delhi Assembly to Raj Niwas to meet Saxena without any prior appointment, sat on a dharna outside his office after security personnel denied them entry. (PTI)

AAP MLAs seek time from President Murmu, to apprise about 'Operation Lotus'

AAP MLA Atishi on Thursday said she has sought time from President Droupadi Murmu to apprise her about the BJP's alleged attempts to "destabilise" state governments in the country.This comes a day after the CBI “accepted” a complaint against the BJP’s alleged ‘Operation Lotus’.

“I have sought time with the custodian of democracy of India - the Hon'ble President,” Atishi tweeted.

“A delegation of @AamAadmiParty MLAs wants to meet her to discuss 'Operation Lotus' - the attempts of BJP to destabilise state governments across the country,” she added.On Wednesday, a 10-member delegation of the AAP MLAs including Atishi went to meet CBI Director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal to demand a probe into BJP's alleged attempts to topple other parties' governments in the state even though his office had not given any response to their request for the meeting.

TheDelhiAssemblyon Thursday passed with voice vote and vote division the confidence motion tabled by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to "prove" that the BJP's 'Operation Lotus' in the capital had failed.

All AAP MLAs present in the House voted in favour of the motion.

Kejriwal says that 169 cases have been filed against 49 AAP MLAs, out of which 134 cases have been cleared and nothing has been found. 

AAP's vote share has risen by 4 per cent in Gujarat after CBI raid against Sisodia. It will increase by 6 per cent by the time he's arrested, says Kejriwal.

CBI said that it did not find anything against Sisodia but it is under pressure to arrest him, claims Kejriwal.

Hitting out at the BJP over 'fake' cases Kejriwal said that his name has been cleared in 12 of the 16 cases filed against him.

Delhi reverts to old excise policy, govt-run liquor vends open

Delhi returned to the old excise policy regime on Thursday with the opening of government-runliquorvends in the city and exit of private players from retail business.

The Excise department claimed that four Delhi government undertakings have readied 300liquorstores across the city. However, trade experts said around 240 of them would open on the first day after closure of private vends on Wednesday.

Those fond ofliquormay also find many of their favourite brands missing from the shop shelves as just 130 IMFL (Indian-made foreignliquor) and 230 foreign brands have been registered so far by the Excise department.
