This is one magazine cover that will not make Kareena Kapoor too happy. A morphed image of the actress in half a niqab, was used by the Durga Vahini to launch another campaign to 'reconvert' hindu women who have married muslim men.
The image which was used on the cover of the latest issue of Himalaya Dhwani also ran with the rider of 'conversion of nationality through religious conversion'.
Rajni Thukral, who brings out the magazine was quoted in Hindustan Times, as saying, “Sixteen Hindu women who married Muslim men posing as hindus have approached us for ghar wapsi. We have already reconverted two. One has also been remarried,”.
Durga Vahini, is the young women's wing of the VHP where women between the ages of 15-35 are taught self-defence techniques. It has in the past been known for starting riots in Bijnor in 1990 and also ransacking the Orrisa assembly in 2002.
