New Delhi: A group of students, who appeared for the NEET-UG exams, met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday where he assured them that "no injustice” will be allowed to take place.
The meeting, which took place at the minister’s residence in Delhi, comes even as there is an uncertainty over the eligibility exams which has seen cases of sporadic leaks.
In the 30-minute meeting, some of the students told the minister that it is unfair for some of the students who studied hard and got good marks to be asked to take a retest, while some students pointed at several irregularities and told him about the need for a retest.
The meeting comes a day after the Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on the petitions that have sought a re-test as well as investigations into the irregularities in the exam, till July 18.
The ministry, in a submission to the court, presented a report prepared by IIT Madras analysing the results of the exam, which said that there was “neither any indication of mass malpractice nor a localised set of candidates being benefitted leading to abnormal scores”. The premier institute was carrying out an analysis on the high number of toppers in these exams.
