The Indian Army on Monday claimed to have sighted footprints of the mythical creature the 'Yeti' near Makalu Base Camp in Eastern Nepal.

The army shared images of the expedition team and "mysterious footprints measuring 32X15 inches" on their official Twitter handle.

The tweet further states that the elusive snowman has only been sighted in the Makalu-Barun National Park in the past.

In folklore, the Yeti, also known as the abominable snowman is an ape-like creature said to inhabit the Himalayas, though its existence has remained unproven.
