Goa’s most well known fashion designer and Padma Shri award winner Wendell Rodricks, 60, died following a long spell of illness.
“I can confirm that Wendell died at 5:45 pm. He was ailing for a long time,” BJP MLA from Thivim assembly constituency and a friend of the designer told DH.
Rodricks, who was educated in Mumbai and later relocated to his ancestral village of Colvale in Goa, was also a well know fashion historian as well as a leading advocator gay rights in Goa.
For the last several years, Rodricks was also putting together a fashion museum to celebrate Goans costumes and designs though time.
