Five Indians arrested in Nepal for trafficking, arms smuggling

Indian national Jasbir Singh Gale and three Nepalese nationals were arrested from a tourist hotspot here, for trafficking girls to Indian cities on the pretext of 'recruiting' them for work in a Goa casino.

Three Nepalese women were also arrested in connection with the case.
The accused were arrested from Thamel, a tourist hub of Kathmandu, while trying to traffic 11 Nepalese women through land route to India on the pretext of providing employment to them in Goa's 'O' casino, according to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle.
The 11 women were also rescued following the arrest.

In a similar case, police arrested Nepalese nationals Som Bahadur Tamang and Sanjiv Lama from Kathmandu for allegedly forcing girls into prostitution.
Meanwhile, four other Indian nationals were arrested from a residence in Maitidevi for their alleged involvement in illegally selling arms in Nepal.
Those arrested are Abhishek Singh, 28, and Ashish Sribastav, 27, from Ayodhya and Ashutosh, 30, and Pradip Shukla, 24, from Gorakhpur.
