Petrol and diesel prices soared to record highs on Friday as fuel rates were hiked for the 11th consecutive day.
Petrol price in Delhi crossed the Rs 90 per litre mark after a hike of 31 paise. In the national capital, Petrol cost Rs 90.19 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 80.60 per litre after an increase of 33 paise.
In Mumbai, diesel and petrol prices are up by 35 paise and 30 paise respectively. After the hike, diesel is priced at Rs 87.67 per litre, and petrol at Rs 96.62 per litre.
Petrol in Bengaluru costs Rs 92.37 per litre, while diesel is at Rs 85.74 per litre.
The relentless hike in prices has been criticised by the opposition parties, including Congress that has demanded an immediate cut in taxes to ease the burden on the common man.
