Mysuru: "Hang my son if he is proven to be guilty," said Devarajegowda, father of D Manoranjan, one of the two accused who attacked Parliament with canister gas on Wednesday morning.

Devrajegowda said, "Character of my son is gold. He always wanted to do good for people. I am shocked to hear that he has indulged in such an act. But I condemn his attack on Parliament, which is a temple built by great people. Whoever has done it, it is wrong. If he is proven to be guilty, he is not my son any more," he said.

He informed, "We are natives of Mallapura village, Ramanapur hobli, Arkalgud taluk, Hassan district. We are farmers. We came to Mysuru for Manoranjan's education 15 years ago. He has studied BE. He also assisted in Agriculture and managed our pisciculture unit and sheep farm. He read a lot of books, especially those of Swamy Vivekananda. I fear that his extreme knowledge led him to take up such an act," he said.

Devrajegowda said, "We are from H D Devegowda's native taluk Arkalgud. I am also into Politics, my father and grandfather were also into politics. Pratap Simha is also from Hassan district. We are close to Pratap Simha; we have good relationship with him and we are his voters and we made him MP when he first contested Loka Sabha election from Mysuru. Manoranjan has high regards for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pratap Simha is a good person. Manoranjan might have asked for pass from Pratap Simha. He might have given a pass for a good cause. But it is wrong if he has misused it," he said.

Devrajegowda said, "Manoranjan had left home saying he was going out of station two days ago. Since he is a grown up son, it is not possible to monitor his each and every activity. I was in my farmland and I came to Mysuru after hearing about the incident," he said.
