Indian Medical Association (IMA) Finance Secretary Dr Anil Goyal on May informed that plasma therapy has been removed from the national guideline as Covid-19 is having many evolutions and many variants.

Goyal said, "This disease has many evolutions and many variants have come. It's just a guideline for plasma therapy and we have a considered opinion that the treatment related to the oxygen saturation of the patient through plasma therapy, if the clinician feels like using it, they can use it but it has been removed from the national guideline so they have to ask the patient."

"We are having a Covid registry which we update every day. Yesterday, we have found that approx 50 doctors died across the country. We are going to go in to the details whether they were vaccinated or not, how many comorbidities were with them. Doctors are exposed working day and night resulting in viral load on immunity," the doctor said.
