"Sun, Mercury, Mars and Pluto are closing in and can be seen within about 10 degrees from each other, all located in the same region in the western sky," Indian Institute of Astrophysics Professor R C Kapoor told PTI.
"After the sunset, one can see Mars with the naked eye and Pluto with the help of a telescope. The celestial gathering of planets is a wonderful treat for sky gazers," he said.
Such a rare celestial feature also occurred in August when Mars, Saturn and Venus, in conjunction with the moon, could be seen with the naked eye during the night.
