Amit Shah will chair a high-level meeting at North Block, three days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a similar meeting where he directed officials to deploy the "full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities" after a spate of terror incidents, including an attack on a bus carrying pilgrims.
The letter reads "I am writing to request deployment of police personnel to patrol and protect our major pipelines for the next 15 days to stop miscreants or people with ulterior motives from tampering water pipelines which have now become Delhi's lifelines. At this juncture any foul play and sabotage will worsen the already difficult water shortage being faced by the people of Delhi."
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that the fight of Lok Sabha Speaker is important. "This time, the situation is not similar to 2014 and 2019. The government is not stable. We have heard that Chandrababu Naidu has asked for the Lok Sabha Speaker post... If a candidate of NDA will not get the post of Lok Sabha Speaker, then PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will break TDP, JDU and LJP (Ram Vilas). Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on M K Stalin's comment that Narendra Modi became PM only due to allies, he said, "Whatever M K Stalin has said is far from the truth. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister and he will be so till 2029. A team, under the leadership of former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb, will be visiting the violence victims in North and South Bengal and submit a report to our party president."
"Instead of worrying about the Central Government, NDA government, he should worry about the Karnataka government. The economic system of the entire state has collapsed, and the coming days will be very difficult for our state of Karnataka. Due to their free schemes, the administration does not have money for any work and the result is that petrol and diesel prices have been increased. The entire public is suffering. So I feel that this government is going to fall very soon. He should worry about the Karnataka government and the Telangana government which has been formed accidentally and one of our workers has formed the government there, who was a member of our RSS and this government is running on his shoulders," he said.
"Despite the VAT hike, diesel prices in Karnataka are still lower than in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. We remain committed to keeping fuel prices reasonable for our citizens," he added.
Addressing an event in Beawar, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal said that PM Modi is working for the upliftment of women and youth. "Today I announce the opening of a centre to empower women and train them. For the honour, development of the country, upliftment of poor, farmers and women we all have to work together and take benefits of the schemes. As a citizen of the country, we must ensure that the benefit of these schemes reaches every section of society."
Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed Mamata Banerjee and TMC for post poll violence in Bengal. "Mamata ji, what is happening under your regime? People can't go home after voting. Brother of one of our party workers was murdered, now he is being threatened."
