CM Siddaramaiah on Monday asserted that he would come clean in the ongoing political and legal battle against the Opposition parties as their machinations to finish him politically would not succeed.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of an event here, Siddaramaiah said, “The Opposition parties are under the illusion that if I am finished politically, the entire Congress will get finished. It (their game plan) will not be realised.”

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is keen to join hands with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra with an aim to defeat the BJP that is currently ruling the state along with two other parties, former MP Imtiaz Jaleel has said.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it will file its response to BRS leader K Kavitha's bail plea in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam by August 22.
"In view of the Haryana Assembly election, every BJP worker has been having discussions and preparations on booth level. Now, in the final period of elections, every BJP worker is ready to form BJP government in Haryana for third time," said Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta.
On allegations against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in MUDA scam, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "Allegations made by BJP on Siddaramaiah are politically motivated and have no truth in them. They (BJP) had tried to disturb our elected govt in Himachal Pradesh, the same in Maharashtra and also in Jharkhand."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met the family of a 22-year-old Dalit man who was shot dead in Salon area recently, and said he would ensure the family gets justice.
Gandhi claimed that people in the area were angry because no action was being taken against the "mastermind" behind the killing.

NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule commented on the incident of alleged sexual assault of two girls at a school in Badlapur. She said, "It's the mismanagement of Maharashtra government, what is the government doing?
"Maharashtra Police has one of the best systems in the country. However, Crime is rising in the state.
The responsibility of crime falls on the home ministry. Thus, the home ministry and the education ministry must give an answer.
"I have seen the statement made by the CM, but where is the home minister's statement? It's a failure of law & order.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw commented on Modi government's lateral entry U-turn. He said, “Today, PM Modi has showed his commitment to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution with a very important decision to implement the principles of reservation in the very transparent method of lateral entry in UPSC.
"PM Modi has always expressed his commitment towards social justice. He gave a constitutional status to OBC Commission and implemented principles of reservation in medical admissions, at Sainik schools, etc.”
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the Thane Police Commissioner to immediately suspend the senior police inspector, assistant sub-inspector and head constable of Badlapur police station who delayed action in the initial stage of the Badlapur incident.
The incident of rape in Badlapur is very serious, I strongly condemn this incident. The state government has formed an SIT under the leadership of a woman officer of IG rank to investigate the case.

On rehabilitation work in landslides-hit Wayanad, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, "Rehabilitation efforts in the wake of the Wayanad landslide are progressing.
"The Chief Secretary has been assigned to oversee this process. There will not be any delay. Currently, 219 people are in relief camps, while the rest have moved to rented houses. The government will provide the rent for their accommodation."
He further added, "Week-long Onam celebrations have been cancelled. This is a time to stand together for Wayanad."

Alok Kumar, International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad commented on Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024. and said, "In my opinion, the government's decision to send the Waqf Amendment Bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee is appropriate. I believe in the coming two to three months, there should be a serious discussion in the country on this issue.
"Some provisions should be welcomed by everyone, such as making the income and expenses of the Waqf transparent, as well as ensuring that the land and properties are being used properly.
"Reforms were necessary, and having all land records registered should not be objected to by anyone," he said.
PM Modi did not raise the issue of extradition of Zakir Naik, says Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim
On the question regarding the extradition of Zakir Naik, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim says, "It was not raised by the prime minister. He did raise it many years back.
"But the issue is much larger than that. I'm not talking about one person, I'm talking about the sentiment of extremism, of compelling cases and evidence that suggests the atrocities committed by an individual or groups or parties.
These are of concern to us. The atrocities of Israeli forces in Gaza, that is real. We are open to any ideas and if evidence is submitted, we will not condone terrorism. But we have to produce a compelling case to support it. We have been tough. We've been working together with India on many of these issues against terrorism. But I don't think one case should deter us from further collaboration and enhancing our bilateral cooperation."
