Congress constitutes 5 screening committees for shortlisting candidates for Lok Sabha polls
Preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, Congress on Friday night announced five screening committees for recommending party candidates for Lok Sabha elections, days after setting up its manifesto committee.
The party also appointed Congress Working Committee Special Invitee Alka Lamba as Mahila Congress president in place of Netta D'Souza and Varun Chaudhary as NSU(I) President in place of Neeraj Kundan.

He had 55 MLAs but not even 8-10 of them are with him now. His condition is very poor. The entire country stands with PM Modi. He is the most popular global leader. So, I think it has become his (Sharad Pawar) habit to speak anything. He does not have his base anymore. NCP's Sharad Pawar faction has met the same situation as that faced by Shiv Sena. So, he says things like that." His comments came after Pawar says, "BJP BJP is working like Hitler's propaganda system in Germany...BJP is out of power in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. Bharatiya Janata Party president J P Nadda on Saturday held a roadshow in Haryana's Panchkula amid tight security.
