Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Telugu cinema superstar Chiranjeevi on Wednesday referred to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, in separate social media posts, as "Deputy Chief Minister" of Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan Kalyan was earlier administered the oath of office as a minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

"Congratulations to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri@ncbn Ji, Deputy Chief Minister Shri@PawanKalyan ji, and all others who took the oath of office today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Union Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, urging immediate intervention in the wake of the fire in Kuwait. Reports indicate that the tragic incident has resulted in the loss of many Indian lives, including Malayalis, and several others have sustained serious injuries. The Chief Minister has requested that necessary instructions be given to the Indian Embassy to coordinate relief and rescue operations in collaboration with the Kuwaiti government.

Odisha CM's first order: 'Open all four doors of the Lord Jagannath Temple'

"After the formation of new government, a Cabinet meeting was called today. The first proposal in the meeting was to open all four doors of the Lord Jagannath Temple as was demanded by the people. It has been decided that the doors will be opened for devotees from tomorrow. Secondly, funds are needed for the running and development of the temple. So, we have proposed to develop a corpus fund," says Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi.

"A corpus fund of Rs 500 crore for Puri Shri Jagannath Temple was approved by the Cabinet. New policy on farmers under which paddy MSP of Rs 3100 per quintal to be provided...Policy to be ready after 100 days. Subhadra Yojana under which cash vouchers of Rs 50,000 are to be given to each woman...Direction given to the dept to implement it after 100 days..." he added.

NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar interacted with farmers in Indapur, Pune earlier today; high milk prices and irrigation discussed 

"We will have to present our side before the current government, in connection with the price of milk. We should get some grants. If they don't listen to us, we will have to take to the streets... There are several issues that won't get resolved in one day. I spoke with the Irrigation Department a few days back. But I know that things are not going to happen immediately. Give me 5-6 months, I have to change this government," said Pawar after the meeting.

"Upon reaching back to Delhi after today’s two oath taking ceremonies, chaired a meeting to review the situation in the wake of the fire mishap in Kuwait, where people of Indian origin have been affected. GoI is doing everything possible to assist those affected by this gruesome fire tragedy," said PM Modi in a tweet, linkinking to a press release from the PMO.

The release stated: "Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi  chaired a review meeting on the fire tragedy in Kuwait in which a number of Indian nationals died and many were injured, at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi earlier today.

Prime Minister expressed his deep sorrow at the unfortunate incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. He wished speedy recovery of those injured. 

Prime Minister directed that Government of India should extend all possible assistance. MOS External Affairs should immediately travel to Kuwait to oversee the relief measures and facilitate expeditious repatriation of the mortal remains.

Prime Minister announced ex- gratia relief of Rupees 2 lakh to the families of the deceased India nationals from Prime Minister Relief Fund.

The Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar,  the Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Kirtivardhan Singh, Principal Secretary to PM Shri Pramod Kumar Mishra, National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Shri Vinay Kwatra and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
