Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole on Tuesday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into alleged corrupt practices surrounding the NEET-UG medical entrance exams. He alleged that "corrupt practices" in the exam are keeping poor students away from admissions to government-run colleges.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Telugu cinema superstar Chiranjeevi on Wednesday referred to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, in separate social media posts, as "Deputy Chief Minister" of Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan was earlier administered the oath of office as a minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Union Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, urging immediate intervention in the wake of the fire in Kuwait. Reports indicate that the tragic incident has resulted in the loss of many Indian lives, including Malayalis, and several others have sustained serious injuries. "After the formation of new government, a Cabinet meeting was called today. The first proposal in the meeting was to open all four doors of the Lord Jagannath Temple as was demanded by the people. It has been decided that the doors will be opened for devotees from tomorrow. Secondly, funds are needed for the running and development of the temple.
