Slamming the Congress government’s handling of state finances, the Union Ministers, BJP and JD(S) MPs from Karnataka have alleged that the state’s fiscal situation has been deteriorating due to mismanagement.

In a joint memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, these leaders said that the citizens of the state have been grappling with the adverse effects of high inflation and escalating prices in the past year, because of the missteps by the state government. Days after the Maharashtra government tabled Economic Survey 2023-24 and Budget 2024-25, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) demanded a white paper on the financial condition of the state.

In his first meeting with Modi since the BJP-led NDA returned to power at the Centre, Siddaramaiah, in a memorandum, sought funds to implement a tunnel project in Bengaluru to ease traffic congestion, extension of metro rail corridors and a peripheral ring road to decongest the IT hub where infrastructure is under severe strain.

Rajasthan BJP holds meeting to strategise for upcoming bypolls

he Rajasthan BJP on Sunday held a meeting here to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming bypolls to five assembly constituencies in the state.

BJP state unit chief C P Joshi, state co-in-charge Vijaya Rahatkar, and those in charge of the five constituencies among other leaders and MLAs were present in the meeting.

The seats -- Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniyara, Khinvsar, and Chaurasi -- fell vacant after the sitting MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha in the recently held general elections.
