Farmers leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that lakhs of farmer will gather at the Punjab-Haryana border to mark 200 days of the protest. They will also honour wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

"Lakhs of farmers will participate here (Shambhu), Khanauri and other borders in the event marking 200 days of our protest. We will honour (wrestler) Vinesh Phogat as she will also be coming here. We will demand Modi government to open this route and give us the right to peacefully protest in Delhi for legal MSP," he said.

3 Vande Bharat trains, to be flagged off by PM on Aug 31, will boost connectivity: Railways

Three new Vande Bharat trains that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off on August 31 will boost connectivity in three states of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, a press statement from the Railway Ministry said.

The ministry said since its debut, the Vande Bharat Express has become a symbol of India's aspirations in comfort meets speed, luxurious rail travel. This indigenously developed train was first introduced on February 15, 2019, under the 'Make in India' initiative.

Three-day RSS meet begins in Kerala 

Three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began in Palakkad, Kerala. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, BJP chief JP Nadda and others are taking part in the event.

At the beginning of the meeting, details on Wayanad landslide and help provided by RSS workers were given to the attendees of the event.

While addressing the National Conference of the District Judiciary in Delhi, PM Narendra Modi said that the people of India have never questioned the Supreme Court or Indian judicial system.

"That's why, completion of 75 years of Supreme Court is boosting India's pride as mother of democracy. It emphasises our cultural proclamation that says 'Satyamev Jayate'," he added.

"It has been 200 days since they are sitting here. It is painful to see this. All of them are citizens of this country. Farmers run the country. Nothing is possible without them, not even athletes - if they don't feed us, we won't be able to compete. Many a time we are helpless and can't do anything, we represent the country at such big levels but we can't do anything for our family even when we see them sad. I urge the Government that they should listen. They had admitted their mistake last time, they should fulfill the promises that they made. The country won't progress, if people sit on streets like this," Phogat told ANI.

Sitaram Yechury still under treatment at AIIMS: CPI (M)

Comrade Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist), continues to be under treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, the central committe office of the party said on Saturday. "He is under the care of a team of specialist doctors who are treating him for respiratory infection," the party added.
