With this, India has so far released and repatriated 111 Pakistani fishermen and 106 prisoners so far this year.The spokesman said the release and repatriation of the Pakistani prisoners lodged in Indian jails was a continuous process.
As per the procedure, a Pakistani prisoner can be repatriated only after completion of sentence and when the concerned State Government or Union Territory administration confirms that there are no other criminal cases in which the person is undergoing trial before any judicial court.
A Pakistani national can be released and repatriated only after he or she is provided with Consular Access, the nationality is confirmed by the Government of Pakistan and a travel document issued by the Pakistan High Commission in his or her favour.
